Introductory Sailing Course 3 Lessons

There is no need for any previous sailing experience prior to starting our Introductory Certificate course, as it is designed to get people new to the sport introduced to all the fundamentals of safe sailing, while having fun out on Sydney Harbour. For those with no previous sailing experience this course is a prerequisite to our Competent Crew course. The syllabus includes: * Personal safety * Safety equipment on board and how it is used * Rigging the yacht * Correct handling of sheets and halyards * Essential sailing knots such as round turn, 2 half hitches, Reef knot, Bowline, Coiling rope * Steering - upwind and tacking * Steering - down wind and gybing * Rules of the water
